Bike to Work Day is Wednesday, June 24th. Get On Your Bike and Ride!

There is a particular kind of morning that reminds you why you live where you live. The air has not yet been cooked by the sun. The Front Range is still doing that thing it does at first light. And somewhere on the US 36 corridor, a few thousand people are choosing two wheels over four, and every single one of them is going to show up to work in a better mood than everyone who took the highway.

That morning is Bike to Work Day.

Every year on the fourth Wednesday in June, the Denver Regional Council of Governments organizes one of the best civic events in the state. No ticket required. No membership fee. Just you, your bike, and a region of people who still believe that commuting does not have to be a slow, grinding act of personal suffering.

This year, June 24th, more than 4,400 riders have already pledged to participate. 258 stations. 229 businesses. The numbers are honest. This is real, and it is growing.

Pledge to ride here. Two minutes of your time, and you are counted. There are prizes for people who like that sort of thing, but the real return is simpler. Your commute becomes something worth talking about.

If you work for a company in Broomfield, or anywhere in the metro, point your employer toward the Business Challenge.Companies compete to get their people moving. It is friendly. It works. The City and County of Broomfield is already on the list. Your organization can be too.

When you are ready to plan your route, find a station. There are 258 of them scattered across nine counties. If you live in Broomfield, there is almost certainly one close enough to matter.

We Will Be Out There. Come Find Us.

Ride Broomfield will be on the road that morning, and we want to see you.

We will be riding the corridor between the Arista station and the East Interlocken Park station, which means we will be right out on the US 36 Bikeway doing what we do: riding, talking to people, and reminding anyone within earshot that Broomfield is a better place on a bike.

If you are commuting that stretch, roll with us for a minute. Stop and say hello. We will be the ones who look unreasonably happy about a Wednesday morning.

And One More Thing.

We have a new home, and Bike to Work Day feels like exactly the right moment to tell you about it.

The Ride Broomfield Community Bike Kitchen is now operating out of the backside of Ringtail Labs at 3001 Industrial Lane, Suite 8, Broomfield, CO 80020. If you are coming from East Interlocken Park, it is right on the other side of US 36. Closer than you think.

This is where we restore donated bikes and get them into the hands of Broomfield residents who need them most. Where neighbors show up with wrenches and leave with calluses. Where a bike that was sitting forgotten in someone's garage becomes transportation for someone who needs it.

It is not glamorous. It is not supposed to be. It is a place where things get fixed, and people get moving, and that matters more than a nice address.

If you have a bike collecting dust, donate it. If you need a bike, come talk to us. If you want to volunteer, show up. We will find something for your hands to do.

And on June 24th, get on your bike. The road is waiting.
